On Not Making The Cut
As I predicted I did not get accepted into the 9rules network. I am a little bummed but not mad. I started this blog for one reason; to keep friends and family members up to date with my life. For the most part the site has served that purpose, and I’m not going to turn this site into something it is not, writing solely about the web, design, or anything else. This is a “personal” blog.
I do wonder how they select sites for the 9rules network though. According to mint, whoever came to visit my site from the 9rules team, visited for about 2-3 minutes. I have been “blogging” for almost a year and a half, so it is impossible to go through that much content in 2-3 minutes! Anyways, I am glad derek made it in, he deserves it. I can’t believe that kristin wasn’t picked though!!

Hey.. I have to say, your page is looking sharp. 9rules leaflet or not, I would be proud to have a slick looking template. The way you’ve aggregated content on the front page is great.

I feel your pain. I consider myself a rookie when it comes to anyone even nominated to be part of 9rules. I guess we’ll have to wait to the next round.

I submitted my site the round before last. And obviously I didn’t make it either. LOL My blog is more personal too. It’s about me, my husband in the military… basicly it’s about how I lead and survive my life as a military wife. Period. And the things in between. Dealing with infertility, health issues and stuff. But I dunno. Yeah, who knows how they go about selecting blogs. I’ve seen other blogs out there that belong to the 9rules network in the community that I think I would fit into and some are just as horrible as mine! lmao
But I guess it depends on people. Some may think my blog is shitty. Some might think it’s cool. Some might think it’s “aight”. ya know? It depends on what you are looking for to read. So you are taking it very well.
I didn’t submit my blog this last time because I was a little discouraged from the round prior to that and I felt like I wasn’t ready to submit my site since I changed domains. So… oh well. I’m cool too about it.
Like I told someone else who submitted to 9rules and got rejected. With all due respect to 9rules [because they do rock and I would like to be part of the network one day], you don’t need to belong to the network to know your blog is of great quality. Just work harder on improving it and I’m sure you’ll get in one day!
I’m surprised Kristin didn’t make it either. I almost knew for sure she was in. It was a hocker indeed.
Keep up the great work though and maintain that postive attitude. It will reflect on your blog and the quality will be greater!
