Mark your calendars people. Chris and the boys of Dashboard Confessional will release “Dusk and Summer” at the end of June. If you haven’t figured it out by now I am a pretty big Dashboard fan, and if you haven’t even heard of them then you definitely will need to check them out. Judging by the first single “Don’t Wait” this album appears to be like the last album “A mark, a mission, a brand, a scar” in that it is mostly electric.

Want to hear the first single? keep reading!

Dusk and Summer track listing:

1. Don’t Wait
2. Reason To Believe
3. The Secret’s In The Telling
4. Stolen
5. Rooftops and Invitations
6. So Long, So Long
7. Currents
8. Slow Decay
9. Dusk And Summer
10. Heaven Here

“So Long, So Long” is the only song that looks familiar to me as it was released on the Dashboard site awhile back as a live unreleased track with Chris on piano. When I saw the band a couple months ago they didn’t play “So Long, So Long” although they did play “Don’t Wait”, so it will be interesting to hear how “So Long, So Long” sounds on the album. Ok enough of my rambling, because you don’t really care……….here is the single from their site!

Update
Due to this kid stealing my post and hot linking to the mp3, I have removed the file. If you would like it, go to the Dashboard site and download the asf………sorry!

Update 2
As of May 23rd “Don’t wait” is available on the iTunes music store. If you download “Don’t Wait” from the music store you will also get an unreleased cover of “Big Country” called “In a Big Country”.

[...] I blogged earlier about the release of Dashboard Confessional’s Dusk and Summer, and even though I had listened to the album on MTV’s the leak before purchasing the album (yes I bought it), I was still stoked to have it in my hand (or atleast on my computer). I personally think this album is slightly heavier than “A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar” (which was also all electric). The only “acoustic” song on this album is the title track, but it still features some electric guitar noodeling in the background. Another great album from Chris and the boys, that will probably open the eyes of some new fans that initially wrote Dashboard off because of the emotional acoustic albums Chris put out in Dashboards infancy. If you liked the acoustic stuff (like me) then this album is no different, it’s just plugged in! [...]
